How paramedics access your information
With your MediWear pendant on, paramedics can use the engraved information on the back of your pendant to fetch your Summary Care Record.
Summary Care Record (SCR)
The SCR is a secure spot in the NHS database where your key details live. Your NHS number links directly to this. It includes the essentials, like:
- Your allergies
- Medication you’re taking
- Any conditions you’ve got
- Who to call if you need them
Only authorised people, like paramedics, can access it, so you’re in safe hands when it matters most.
Keeping your information up to date
Your SCR is like a family journal – it’s only as good as what’s in it:
- Pop in or call your GP as normal: ask them to check your details and update anything new, like a change in meds or an allergy.
- Make it a habit: a quick chat during your usual visits keeps it all spot-on.
- Private healthcare note: if you also use private healthcare, make sure your medical history is shared with and updated by your GP, so your SCR reflects all the relevant information.
