About Us
Why MediWear exists
After hearing that a family friend had been rushed to hospital and remained unidentified for 36 hours, my grandmother, Majoon, began to worry the same could happen to her. A few weeks later, she fainted on her way home from the shops. That worry suddenly felt real.
She wanted her medical details to be easily accessible, but in a way that felt personal and dignified. Not like a public announcement of her condition. Most medical IDs felt too clinical, with harsh symbols and impersonal designs. When I tried to get her one, she was clear she would never actually wear it.
"I'm uncomfortable wearing something that makes people think I'm ill" - Majoon
That moment changed everything.
Our belief
We believe safety only works if it’s worn.
If medical information is left at home, hidden in a drawer, or taken off because it feels uncomfortable or stigmatising, it cannot do its job when it matters most.
That’s why we design medical ID jewellery people feel comfortable wearing every day. Jewellery first. Medical ID second.
How that belief shapes everything we make
Every MediWear piece begins with a single question.
Will someone actually want to wear this every day?
That belief leads to clear choices. Calm, timeless design rather than clinical symbols. Clarity in an emergency without making wearers feel labelled. No subscriptions, technology, or gimmicks that add friction.
The result is medical ID jewellery that fits naturally into everyday life, while still delivering the information first responders need.
Crafted with care, made to last
All MediWear pieces are handcrafted and hallmarked in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter.
We work closely with experienced jewellers to ensure every pendant meets the standards expected of fine jewellery, not medical equipment.
Designed to be worn with confidence, every day.
Who we are
Founder | Kya Mobasheri
When I first started MediWear, designing the first pendant took everything I had. For a while, my grandma was the only one wearing one. I knew it wouldn’t do something dramatic like give her CPR - but even if it gave her a 2% better chance in an emergency, it was worth it. That peace of mind meant everything to me, and now we share that feeling with other families.
Inspiration | Majoon
My grandma, Majoon, has always been the heart of our family. She’s independent, thoughtful and strong. When I couldn’t find a medical ID she’d actually wear, I offered to create one for her instead. It had to feel like jewellery, not a warning label - something she’d be happy to put on every day. She’s the reason MediWear exists, and everything we do carries her influence.
