It all started with my grandmother, Majoon. She needed a medical ID, but nothing felt right – too bulky, too clinical, or tied to expensive subscriptions. She wanted something she’d feel comfortable and confident wearing every day. So we created MediWear: medical jewellery that’selegant and dignified.

Absolutely! Each pendant is made to carry your most important details, so it’s ready when you need it.

We’ve learned everything from paramedics on the front line, and they recommend including:

Your name – first name and surname initial (11-character limit).

Your date of birth – helps confirm your identity quickly.

Your NHS number – unlocks your full medical record in an emergency.

Paramedics are trained to look for medical information on the body, especially on the wrist, neck or in a wallet. While our symbol isn't officially recognised, we designed it to be distinctive enough to prompt a closer look without the clinical appearance that puts many people off traditional IDs. What really matters is that your details are on you, and our pendants make that far more likely.

Yes! Your NHS number allows authorised medical professionals to quickly access your Summary Care Record (SCR), which includes your key health details.

Due to space limitations, we recommend listing only your NHS number, name and date of birth. This ensures paramedics can access your full records.

Our pendants are designed for use within the UK. The engraved details such as your name, date of birth and NHS number are most useful to NHS professionals and may not be recognised or helpful to healthcare providers abroad. If you are travelling internationally, we recommend carrying additional medical information appropriate for the country you are visiting.

Not at the moment. Since our pendants work with NHS records, we focus on UK customers to make sure they get the most from their MediWear.

Each pendant is handcrafted and engraved right here in the UK.

Because every piece is made to order, please allow up to two weeks for delivery.

Our pendants are water-resistant for everyday wear, but we recommend keeping them away from prolonged exposure to water to preserve the engraving.

Our engraving is made to last. However, like all jewellery, natural wear and tear is normal over time.

Our engraving is permanent and designed to last. Since details like your NHS number, name and date of birth rarely change, updates shouldn’t be necessary. However, if you do need to change your engraving, you would need to order a new pendant.

Absolutely. Many of our customers buy MediWear pendants for their parents, grandparents or loved ones who might need emergency care but don’t want to wear unsightly medical ID.

Not at all! Our pendants are designed for anyone who would get comfort from knowing they’ll be quickly identified by paramedics, from healthy people to allergy sufferers, to people with chronic conditions or disabilities.

Yes! Your NHS number alone doesn’t contain private medical information – it simply allows healthcare professionals to access your records. It’s more secure than listing specific conditions.

No. We don’t store or share any personal data beyond what you submit for engraving.

We get it – mistakes happen! Double check everything before placing your order, but if you spot an error, email us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to fix it before engraving.
